A short story about
Curated Zen is led by Shaivya Nayan, a design professional with over a decade of experience across residential, workplace and commercial projects in India.
Over the years, Shaivya has worked on projects at different stages of development. Her experience spans project planning, spatial and design development, detailing, site coordination, and collaboration with clients, contractors, vendors and specialist teams.
That experience has shown her that a space comes together through more than a design idea. It depends on understanding how it will be used, making the right decisions at the right time, and carrying them forward with care for the budget, timeline and people involved.
Curated Zen brings that experience into a more flexible way of working with clients. From a focused design question to ongoing guidance or complete design consultancy, the level of involvement is shaped around what each project actually needs—with the aim of making both the decisions and the process clearer from one stage to the next.

I’ve spent enough time designing spaces—and seeing designs make their way from drawings to site—to know that the difficult part is rarely finding another idea.
It’s deciding which idea is right for your space.
There may be a contractor recommending one approach, a showroom suggesting another, saved references you love, practical constraints you can’t ignore, and now AI showing you possibilities you may never have considered. I use many of those tools too.
What professional experience brings is the ability to look beyond the image: to ask the right questions, understand the implications of a choice, and judge what makes sense for the space, budget and people involved.
That’s what I want Curated Zen to give you.
You can come to me with one decision you’re stuck on, ask me to stay involved at important stages, or bring me in to design the complete space from the beginning.
My aim isn’t to make the decisions for you. It’s to bring the design experience and perspective that help us make better ones together—and create a space that genuinely works for you.
